How do I resize an image without losing quality?

Scaling down never adds visible artefacts, so the safest approach is to set the exact width you need and export to WebP or AVIF at quality 80–90. Avoid scaling an image up: enlarging cannot recover detail that was never captured.

Can I crop an image to an exact ratio like 1:1 or 16:9?

Yes. Choose a ratio from the crop panel and the selection box locks to it while you drag, so you can cut a perfect square avatar or a 16:9 thumbnail without doing the maths.
